Audio Archive Podcast – Go against the Grain is a long-term journalistic project and digital archive for conversations, interviews, reports, and essays on politics, society, and culture. Two to four new podcast episodes are released each month.
For more than three decades, we have been conducting interviews with philosophers, authors, activists, and scientists worldwide. Our interviewees explain the complex developments of our time and place them in an easily understandable and contemporary context within the global framework.

/ 🎓Christoph Burgmer in conversation with Bert Fragner (1941-2021). Bert Fragner was Professor of Iranian Studies in Berlin, Bamberg (obituary) and Vienna, among other places. The conversation deals with Iran's development in the 20th and 21st centuries. It remains to be seen whether Iranian society will succeed in making the leap from absolute Shah rule and Islamist-influenced clerical dictatorship to a liberal-bourgeois democracy.
