🎓Christoph Burgmer (audio archiv) im Gespräch mit Elmar Altvater (1938-2018). Der Berliner Politologe Elmar Altvater war über Jahrzehnte einer der einflussreichsten Theoretiker und Analysten der unabhängigen Linken. Seine Veröffentlichung 1996 mit Birgit Mahnkopf "Grenzen der Globalisierung. Ökonomie, Ökologie und Politik in der Weltgesellschaft." gilt bis heute als einflussreiches Standartwerk zur wirtschaftlichen Globalisierung. Es wurde in zahlreiche Sprachen übersetzt. Aus Elmar Altvaters Forderung nach einer "solidarischen Gesellschaft" erklärt sich sein politisches Engagement. Neben seiner Lehrtätigkeit am Otto-Suhr Institut in Berlin war er unter anderem Gründungsmitglied des Berliner "Instituts Solidarische Moderne". Berlin political scientist Elmar Altvater was one of the most influential theorists and analysts of the independent left for decades. His 1996 publication with Birgit Mahnkopf ‘Limits og Globalisation. Economy, ecology and politics in world society.’ is still considered an influential standard work on economic globalisation. It has been translated into numerous languages. Elmar Altvater's call for a ‘society based on solidarity’ explains his political commitment. In addition to his teaching activities at the Otto Suhr Institute in Berlin, he was also a founding member of the Berlin ‘Institut Solidarische Moderne’.
