🎓 Dakxin Chhara im Gespräch mit Christoph Burgmer. Dakxinkumar Bajrange, Künstlername „Dakxin Chhara“, ist Filmemacher, Dramaturg und Aktivist und gehört der als „Chhara De-notified Tribe“ (DNT) bezeichneten Gemeinschaft an. Er absolvierte ein Masterstudium an der University of Leeds in Großbritannien und lebt er in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Dakxin Chhara ist Gründer der Filmproduktionsfirma „Nomad Movies“ sowie Gründungsmitglied des Vimukta Trust und des Budhan Theatre. 2014 produzierte seine Produktionsfirma Nomad Movies den von der Kritik gefeierten Bollywood-Film „Sameer“ mit Zeeshan Ayyub, Seema Biswas und Anjali Patil in den Hauptrollen. Der Film kam 2017 in die Kinos und war anschließend von Oktober 2017 bis Oktober 2019 auf Netflix zu sehen; mittlerweile ist er auf Amazon Prime Video und Jio Cinema verfügbar. „Sameer“ wurde außerdem beim Indian Film Festival of Queensland in Australien mit dem Preis für den „Besten Regisseur“ (2017) ausgezeichnet.
/🎓 Dakxin Chhara in conversation with Christoph Burgmer. Dakxinkumar Bajrange, whose stage name is ‘Dakxin Chhara’, is a filmmaker, dramaturg and activist, and belongs to the community known as the ‘Chhara De-notified Tribe’ (DNT). He completed a Master’s degree at the University of Leeds in the UK. He lives in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and is the founder of the film production company ‘Nomad Movies’, as well as a founding member of the Vimukta Trust and the Budhan Theatre. In 2014, his production company Nomad Movies produced the critically acclaimed Bollywood film ‘Sameer’, starring Zeeshan Ayyub, Seema Biswas and Anjali Patil in the lead roles. The film was released in cinemas in 2017 and was subsequently available on Netflix from October 2017 to October 2019; it is now available on Amazon Prime Video and Jio Cinema. ‘Sameer’ also won the ‘Best Director’ award (2017) at the Indian Film Festival of Queensland in Australia.
