🎓 Christoph Burgmer im Gespräch mit Reinhard Schulze. Reinhard Schulze (geb. 1953) lehrte an der Universität Bern Islamwissenschaft und Neuere Orientalische Philologie. Er gilt als einer der wichtigsten Vertreter:innen einer neuen, selbstkritischen Islamwissenschaft, die versucht, die eurozentristische Rezeption des Orients zu überwinden. Seine These einer islamischen Aufklärung im 18. Jahrhundert sorgte in der Wissenschaft für breite Diskussionen genauso wie seine öffentlichen Beiträge zu Islam, Muslim:innen in Europa oder Ländern wie Iran.
/🎓 Christoph Burgmer in conversation with Reinhard Schulze. Reinhardt Schulze (born 1953) taught Islamic Studies and Modern Oriental Philology at the University of Bern/Switzerland. He is regarded as one of the most important representatives of a self-critical Islamic Studies that attempts to overcome the Eurocentric reception of the Orient. His thesis of an Islamic Enlightenment in the 18th century caused widespread debate in academia, as did his public contributions on Islam, Muslims in Europe and countries such as Iran.
