🎓 Michael Briefs im Gespräch mit Stan Swamy (1937-2021). Unter welchen Repressionen haben die indischen Adivasi, die indischen Ureinwohner:innen zu leiden? Wie wehren sie sich gegen die Ausbeutung durch internationale Minenbaufirmen und staatliche Vertreibung von ihrem Land? Stan Swamy war ein Jesuitenpater und Menschenrechtsaktivist. Über 50 Jahre setzte er sich für die Adivasi ein. 2020 wurde er unter dem Vorwurf des "Terrorismus" verhaftet. Er verstarb 2021 in Folge der Haft in Mumbai. Das Gespräch wurde 2003 im indischen Bundesstaat Jharkhand aufgezeichnet.

How do they defend themselves against exploitation by international mining companies and state expulsion from their land? Stan Swamy was a Jesuit priest and human rights activist. He campaigned for the Adivasi for over 50 years. In 2020, he was arrested on charges of ‘terrorism’. He died in 2021 as a result of imprisonment in Mumbai. The interview was recorded in 2003 in the Indian state of Jharkhand.
