🎓Christoph Burgmer im Gespräch mit Zygmunt Bauman(1925-2017) Der polnisch-britische Soziologe und Philosoph Zygmunt Bauman gehört bis heute zweifelsohne zu den großen europäischen Denker:innen der Gegenwart. 1925 in Posen geboren floh er mit seiner Familie vor den Nationalsozialisten in die Sowjetunion. Zymunt Bauman war Jude, Antizionist und Kommunist. Seine wissenschaftliche Karriere begann an der Universität Warschau. Ende der 60er Jahre trat er aus der polnischen Arbeiterpartei aus und wurde zum Befürworter der europäischen Einigung. Er verliess Polen und erhielt einen Ruf an die Universität Leeds in Großbritannien. Zygmunt Bauman prägte den Begriff einer ”verflüssigten Moderne” (liquid modernity). Eines ihrer Kennzeichen ist die ensolidarisierte Gesellschaft.
/🎓 Christoph Burgmer in conversation with Zygmunt Bauman (1925-2017). The Polish-British sociologist and philosopher Zygmunt Bauman is undoubtedly one of the great European thinkers of our time. Born in Poznan in 1925, he fled with his family to the Soviet Union to escape the Nazis. Zymunt Bauman was Jewish, anti-Zionist and communist. His academic career began at the University of Warsaw. At the end of the 1960s, he left the Polish Labour Party and became a supporter of European unification. He left Poland and was appointed to the University of Leeds in Great Britain. Zygmunt Bauman coined the term ‘liquid modernity’. One of its characteristics is an ensolidarised society.

Le sociologue et philosophe polono-britannique Zygmunt Bauman est sans aucun doute l'un des plus grands penseurs européens de notre époque. Né à Poznan en 1925, il a fui avec sa famille en Union soviétique pour échapper aux nazis. Zymunt Bauman était juif, antisioniste et communiste. Sa carrière universitaire a débuté à l'université de Varsovie. À la fin des années 1960, il quitte le parti travailliste polonais et devient un partisan de l'unification européenne. Il quitte la Pologne et est nommé à l'université de Leeds, en Grande-Bretagne. Zygmunt Bauman a inventé le terme de « modernité liquide ». L'une de ses caractéristiques est une société ensolidarisée.
