In his novels, he repeatedly took up controversial social issues, got involved in public discussions and was insulted as "queer" on television as early as 1968. In this interview, Gore Vidal explains his assessment of why the United States has been in an eternal, never-ending state of war since the end of World War II.

Der Politiker wurde 1965 in Urach geboren, seine Eltern stammen aus Pazar in der Türkei. Er absolvierte eine Erzieherausbildung und ein Sozialpädagogikstudium, trat 1981 den Grünen bei und beantragte mit 18 die deutsche Staatsbürgerschaft. Von 2004-2009 war er Abgeordneter im Europaparlament. In dieser Zeit entstand das Interview. Cem Özdemir spricht über persönliche Erfahrungen der Migration, des Rassismus und von der Türkei als zukünftigen Mitglied der Europäischen Union.

In this conversation, Jean Ziegler, who himself lived in the Congo for several years, explains the importance of African cultures for the political emancipation from modern slavery by the West, Russia and China.
